I have started writing a fiction novel!

Hi all! After spending many months attending endless galaxies of creative writing workshops (and taking the time to write about them in previous blog posts), I have decided that it is time to step up a notch and try writing a fiction novel. So, last Wednesday, I was out for a wonder along the Hillingdon canals in deepest west London, tracing a journey in a story that combines autism, defying family, world travel to Singapore and mental recovery, all into one complete package.

There is also some hint of misdirection being thrown in the wind along this part of the adventure, as seen at the entrance to the Slough Arm near West Drayton:

Once I got to West Drayton, I took a bus out to the massive structure that is Heathrow Terminal 5, where I spent some time tracing the departure from the UK, before moving on to the famous Myrtle Avenue planespotting area - there, I was able to get a glimpse of the very flight that I was writing about in the story; the British Airways A380 jet that was taking off on its 13 hour voyage to Singapore.

That being said, the novel is still in its fairly early heydays (7,000 words), but I am starting to become more convinced that this is the one story that I am certainly very passionate to be writing about.

I am looking forward to sharing some brief updates once I get further down the line in terms of its story development, and I hope that you will come along with me on this epic journey around the world.

My experience at the Make a Difference Boot Camp - Days 1 to 3

Let's start this post by telling you that this is a completely different post to what I usually make on this blog. Over the past couple of months, I have been using my blog to discuss my fantasy map projects and the things that make me feel passionate about cartography, as part of a plan to create a business idea out of it. Thus, I have been involved over the last week in a social enterprise programme, and I would like to share the experiences of my time there. The "Make a Difference Boot Camp" is a social enterprise programme that is run jointly by the Enterprise and Entrepreneurship team at the University of Suffolk and Dot-to-Dot Consultancy , a consultancy firm helping people build social enterprise business ideas. Welcome to my blog

Hello readers, Welcome to Jakub's Fantasy Map World, a blog created by Jakub Puk that aims to provide the crossroads between graphics design and computer games and wellness and lifestyle.
